Cost involved of sponsoring an overseas worker
The costs can be broken down into three parts:
Government visa sponsorship fees
Professional fees for a Registered Migration Agent or Immigration Lawyer
Recruitment placement fees
Government visa sponsorship fees
Becoming an approved sponsor under the TSS 482 visa program: AUD420
Nominating a visa applicant for the TSS 482 visa: AUD330
Nominating a visa applicant for the ENS 186 visa: AUD540
Skilling Australians Fund levy (SAF):
Small (annual turnover less than $10 million)
AUD1200 per year for a 482 visa
AUD3000 one-off for the 186 visa
Other business (annual turnover of $10 million or more)
AUD1800 per year for a 482 visa
AUD5000 one-off for a 186 visa
SAF example: a business with an annual turnover of less than AUD10 million per year that wishes to nominate a TSS worker for 4-years would be liable to pay a levy of AUD4,800 (4 years x AUD1,200).
Example: total government fee example when sponsoring a 482 visa worker for 4-years:
SBS application: AUD420
Nomination fee: AUD330
SAF: (for a company with less than 10mil in turnover): AUD4,800
TOTAL: AUD5,550
The employer must pay for all costs associated with becoming a sponsor and nominating and sponsoring a candidate for a work visa.
However, an employer is not liable to pay for costs associated with the candidate's visa application, including visa fees, health checks, police checks, professional registration and skills assessments if applicable. However, an employer may choose to cover these costs.
Professional fees for a Registered Migration Agent or Immigration Lawyer
If employers need it, we offer in-house visa support and immigration advice and can assist employers with all associated paperwork. We understand that employers may already have a preferred Registered Migration Agent or Immigration Lawyer, and that's okay by us.
But if employers do need help, we are here. For straightforward matters, you can expect our professional fees (exclusive of GST) to be in the following ranges:
Standard Business Sponsorship Applications
AUD3,000 - AUD6,000 per application
Employer Nomination Applications (Temp and Permanent)
AUD2,000 - AUD4,000 per application
SkillMatching's recruitment fees
The fee payable to us will be calculated as a percentage of the candidate’s gross equivalent annualised remuneration package which will be taken to include base salary plus all other benefits or allowances which represent remuneration in other forms, such as superannuation, subsidised housing loans, bonuses, commissions, etc
AUD40,001 and AUD60,000 16%
Above AUD60,001 18%
These fees are to be paid fourteen (14) days from the candidate's commencement date.
